The Ministry of Central Services provides a wide array of services to over 12,000 government employees.  Its main lines of business are central support, human resource and IT services.

Central Support Services

The Central Support division of Central Services provides central property management services, transportation, purchasing, risk management, records management, telecommunications and mail distribution.  The division places priority on providing good value for money and incorporating environmental initiatives through the purchase of fuel-efficient vehicles, energy-efficient buildings and targets to reduce the government's environmental footprint.

Human Resource Services

The Public Service Commission (PSC) division of Central Services is the central human resource agency for the Government of Saskatchewan.  The PSC provides excellence in human resource management to enable a high performing and innovative professional public service.

The human resource strategies and services delivered by the PSC include recruitment and selection, learning and development, classification of positions, labour relations, payroll, employee and family assistance, compensation, workforce planning and organizational development.

Information Technology Services

The Information Technology Office (ITO) division of Central Services is the major IT services supplier for government ministries and agencies.  It offers a full-range of IT services to its government customers, including help desk, hardware and software, application development and IT security services.  The division is also responsible for setting government-wide policies and standards in IT infrastructure, IT support services and security.  Its key focus is to add value to government IT services, engage the private sector's expertise and innovation, enable more effective and efficient government services and foster a culture of customer service within government.

In addition to its internal programs, Central Service provides a variety of services to the public and businesses. These include job hiring, the purchase of goods and services from the private sector and the disposition of used government equipment. The ministry operates four public websites to help facilitate this business:
